HARMANS CROSS - The Price of Success |
|
Harmans Cross showed ‘The Kite Runner’ to an impressively packed house on Tuesday night. Delicious Indian nibbles were served in an interval. A wonderful film but the sub-titles were a little hard to read because of the number of heads! The price of success. However, it was with great pleasure that the Film Festival was able to donate £50-00 from the Box Office towards the New Village Hall Fund. |

JAMAICA INN – Starring Leslie Banks & Charles Laughton
This is the third year the Purbeck Film Festival has been lucky enough to show a film at this amazing venue. Many thanks to Charlie and Cathy for hosting the evening and it was good to see Leslie Banks appearing once more at the Inn. Thanks also to Keith Lawes for coming to introduce his fantastic Film Festival trailer which we hope he’ll be submitting for an animation award. What do you think?

PURBECK FILM MEETS SCREEN BITES |
|
Saturday night at the Rex saw another packed crowd filing into the auditorium – but a different atmosphere awaited them. The aromas wafted through the cinema as delicacies from local Dorset produce were served to cinema goers. It certainly was a celebration of food and film with a fine selection of tasting from biscuits, cakes, amazing meat dishes to the wonders of Purbeck Ice Cream. Thank you to all at Screen Bites for those wonderful snippets on the taste buds. After the food and Keith Lawe’s Purbeck Film Festival Trailer the audience were treated to a short talk by the lovely actress Harriet Walters on her experiences of filming ‘Milou En Mai’ – and following that - the sheer joy of watching this quirky and delightful film made even more fun by Harriet’s background information. A top evening all round. |
